JUNE 2009
Greetings from Bethany House!
New life is stirring at Bethany House! The gardens are coming alive; birds are building nests and stopping by while on their migratory travels. Recently, Bethany House was visited by a Rose- breasted Grosbeak, a Baltimore Oriole, and a White Crowned sparrow. The distinct markings on the sparrow’s head remind me of a French manicure.
The board is meeting monthly now and we are in the process of looking at how Bethany House can grow beyond its founder. This is a very exciting time for me. I realize that I do not have the energy to work as hard as I have been, and I sense God is calling me into new ways of ministry. I would like to continue working as a spiritual director and also pursue the possibility of writing a book about the Bethany story.
After twenty inspired and rewarding years, I am growing weary but I am optimistic about the future of Bethany House. In terms of providing new programs and ministry opportunities for people, the time has come to turn over the reins and the life of Bethany as it has been.
At our recent Board meeting, I sensed excitement in the board members about the promise of new life for the ministries of Bethany House. As future plans take form there will be further announcements. This will happen in God's time!
Blessings and peace,
Carol Joselyn
